Week 8 EOC: Creative Content

I am intending to reintroduce the Scottish dish of Haggis to the world in the form of a potato chip. The flavor is widely popular in Scotland and could be big in a country such as the United States.
I will intentionally introduce the world to Phineas Fogg and detail an adventure of discovery and intrigue as part of the packaging. A character will be photographed and capitalized on as part of the marketing strategy. I will set a mission statement, objectives, a SWOT analysis, target marketing strategy, introduce the product, reveal the distribution aspect, talk about promotion, talk about an appropriate price, then implement evaluation control.

Week 8 BOC: The Adventure

I, Phineas Fogg, have accepted a challenge from my fellow members at the Reform Club and will set out of prove that you can travel around the world in a mind-boggling 80 days.
“Today started out the same as most of these days have been. The balloon is in need of repair and we are only two days ahead of schedule. We will have to stop at the next town for water and supplies.
We stopped near a loch called Ness, in Scotland, with rumors of monsters and such, this seemed a logical stop for me. The locals enjoyed the usual foods and delicacies as I had expected, and one especially good: Haggis. I had never tasted it and had a desire to do so. After tasting this wonderful treat It occurred to me that I had to somehow take its intriguing flavors with us. The staples that were most common for these parts were potatoes, milk products and sheep. I suddenly got the great Idea to somehow slice the potatoes so thin that they could retain the flavor of almost anything I applied to them, in this case Haggis. But to add a bit of variety to this delicacy I had to insert a bit of the local tradition. I decided to call my potato “chips,” if you will, Loch Nessie chips: The lightly salted flavor of the monster Nessie. We soaked the chips in the water from the Loch for a bit of originality, and used traditional Haggis flavorings.

Mission Statement
“Many organizations develop formal mission statements that answer these questions. A mission statement is a statement of the organization’s purpose—what it wants to accomplish in the larger environment. A clear mission statement acts as an “invisible hand” that guides people in the organization.”

To provide a flavorful snack treat made with quality ingredients and quality effort. To provide adult interaction with a flavorful snack that will promote conversation. To combine incredible value and taste in an indescribable snack treat and bring about world peace.

EOC Week 7: The Pitch: The Final

What I’m preparing to share with you, you may or may not believe. It’s very simple:
“Nessies Chips! The chips with the flavor you won’t believe”
Made from local potatos grown from near the loch and comes in two flavors: Haggis (Haggis is Scotland’s best-known regional dish. It is made from lamb’s offal (lungs, liver and heart) mixed with suet, onions, herbs and spices, all packed into a skin, traditionally made of a sheep’s stomach.) and the exotic cheese flavor Strathkiness.
Scotland is a very colorful land full of rolling hills and mountains to explore. In this great land are a multitude of lakes, or ‘lochs’ as the locals call them. One of the most famous is Loch Ness. Loch ness is 950 feet deep and about 22 miles long. It is certainly big enough to house something large enough to be seen and recognized from far away.
Phineas Fogg spent 80 days circumnavigating the globe and had adventures in most countries. One of those countries is Scotland. The entry in his daily log from his Scotland adventure, goes something like this:
“Today started out the same as most of these days have been wake up navigate the days direction and pace and hit the trail hard. The balloon is in need of repair and we are only two days ahead of schedule. We will have to stop at the Loch Ness town of ________. We have heard rumours of some sort of monster that lives in the lake and eats small animals and children. Along the edges of the loch are strange formations near trees that resemble small mountains. The local children run and play along them so very happy go lucky.”

EOC Week 6: Me x 3

Canon cameras and products are and have been a product I relate to. I have always owned a camera and it’s always been a Canon. My typical format is 35 millimeter, single lens reflex cameras. Rarely, you might find me shooting with an old antique camera but that’s usually for fun and when I can afford the film my digital camera has all the features of my film camera except the straight up quality that film or bigger format cameras offer. Todays’ digital cameras offer a wide array of technological options to help sculpt light, and achieve the photograph desired.

My favorite fragrance is Calvin Kleins’ Eternity for men. It has been my favorite for over 20 years and those who have known me that long, recognize me by my smell. Some of my female friends look forward to being near me and one even grabs my shirt and pulls me closer and buries her face and inhales. The cost is a little high for my budget, however, I want no other fragrance but this one. I totally identify with Eternity, and yet will now and again use the same Old Spice my grandfather used when I was growing up. Now that is a smell that evokes fond memories of my childhood.

I chose this item to describe me because shaving is something that all men do. Most men shave on a daily basis, and some at least to trim and maintain a beard or facial hair. I feel this describes me because I use only this product to shave.  To me the comfort of the shave and the closeness is unmatched. To me that is very important since I have a tough beard. One blade will do three or four shaves and then it has to be thrown away. It is an expensive blade, however, well worth the comfort it affords me.
